Where is it used?

Sole Akbil is not tied to a single vehicle type. Because card type, tariff and passage rules are defined centrally, the same infrastructure works almost anywhere a fare is collected:

• Municipal city buses
• Private public buses
• Minibus and cooperative routes
• Inter-district municipal routes
• Student transport vehicles
• Staff and factory shuttles
• University campus transport
• Hotel and facility shuttle vehicles
• Paid car park entry and exit
• Public canteens and cafeterias
• Sports facilities and cultural centres
• Library and course registration entrances

Every item on the list is defined as a separate service in the system and reported separately. An installation that begins with transport can therefore be extended to the municipality's other services without additional infrastructure - that is the essence of the city card concept.

Printed smart cards

We produce the cards ourselves: design, printing, encoding and delivery are handled end to end. For every municipality and business we print contactless Mifare cards branded to their own identity.

• Card types: Full fare, student, discounted, free (social support), staff and limited-ticket (ride credit) cards. The tariff is defined on the card; the driver does not decide.
• Personalisation: On request, name, identity number, date of birth and a photo area can be printed on the card - allowing entitlement on student and free cards to be verified visually as well.
• Colour coding: Tariff types are printed in different colours, so which tariff a card belongs to is clear at a glance during inspection.
• Lost card management: A lost card is blocked centrally and its balance and entitlement transferred to a new card. Attempts made with a blocked card are also recorded.
