QR code and mobile ticketing lets a passenger pass without carrying a physical card, using a single-use QR ticket obtained from their phone or a sales point. The validator reads the QR code, verifies the ticket's validity and records the passage. It removes the need to get a card, especially for tourists, guests and infrequent users.
How Does a QR Ticket Work?
